we’re coming off SUCH a fun-filled weekend celebrating our sweet little lila bean’s first dance recital as a little unicorn ballerina!!
lila’s started dance in december {thanks to grammie + gram pie for her early christmas present!} after months of begging to be a ballerina + cheerleader, so when i finally found the perfect dance studio for us we were pumped!
lila quickly fell in love with her teachers and after weeks of easing into her first solo activity, she made friends and dance was a topic of conversation in our house on a daily basis. we finally got lila a calendar so she could see when it was tuesday…the magical dance day! she excitedly wore her pink tights, black leotard and pink ballet shoes and came home with dance moves she needed to practice every day {her own instructions}.
june 15 came…the day etched on lila’s little heart and she was beaming. we had a studio rehearsal on friday night, then a dress rehearsal on saturday morning followed by the real production at night. she got to wear makeup for the first time ever and she all of a sudden looked 15. {cue the mama tears}
i got her dressed in her precious unicorn costume backstage and she eagerly went with the stage mom and i went to sit out in the crowd with her #1 fans {missing a few grandparents who were traveling!}.
while we weren’t allowed to video tape, her performance did not disappoint. her whole little class of unicorns walking out was just about the cutest thing in the entire world. they all walked out, hands on hips and was a hilariously cute rendition of a unicorn song, looking back at their teacher, doing twirls, waving to the audience and stealing the show.
at the end of the show, everyone walked off the stage except lila who continued to stay on stage, waving at her fans and we were dying laughing. she finally {finally} headed off stage but of course before exiting gave one final air kiss and wave and it was probably the cutest thing i’ve ever seen.
man alive we’re so proud of this little girl… she rocked her very first dance recital and i’m officially a dance mom…and can’t say i could be more excited! way to go lila bean, we love you so!
the night was complete with a family dinner with her favorite…chips + salsa and then a sleepover at aunt tine + uncle marks.
sunday was of course fathers day so we celebrated our favorite guy and most of our family + dads {missing some that we’ll celebrate next week!}
such a fun weekend to say the least!!
we’re so proud of you, lila bean!
Aunt Ebby was just beaming while watching Lila Bean twirl! Her exit was so funny, her Daddy and I were in tears from laughter! One of the highlights of my year so far! The best!!!! I’m honored and blessed to have been included! ❤️🐝👱🏻♀️
