it’s taken me a solid week to get my act together…this season is SO BUSY!! the halls are decked however and walking out to a decorated christmas tree in the silent of the morning before everyone awakes with a cup of coffee is magical. my family has been hunting for a christmas tree since before i was even born and finally after 30 years, our beloved christmas tree farm closed it’s doors 3 years ago. ever since then, we’ve been on the hunt for a new christmas tree farm to cut for our family.
it’s more about the experience to me than anything… from the actual hunt to the hot cocoa + barn animals, the memories i have of cutting down our family christmas tree simply can’t be beat. when looking for a new christmas tree farm over the last few years, we’ve come across some wonderful family farms and this year tried young’s dairy christmas tree farm {carl + dorothy young’s christmas tree farm} for the first time! they had some of the most beautifully shaped christmas trees i’ve ever seen. they were definitely on the more expensive side of what we’ve ever paid, but the kids all had a blast and so did we finding the perfect tree to bring home! they shake, wrap and even load your tree to your car which was super helpful with all of our littles running a muck! the kids loved the hot chocolate + popcorn in the barn and mills went crazy over the little train running in the barn!
my sister’s family and i vowed that when our parents divorced 6 years ago that we would carry on the tradition with our own families. we’re so blessed that now, both sets of parents accompany us {when they’re not traveling!} and our kids have the best memories with their cousins and 2/3 sets of grandparents!
once home, we decorate it as a family, which is hilarious with the 3 most ornery toddlers, but it’s truly one of my favorite weekends ever…
merry christmas, friends!
The photos alone, make this post such a pleasure read. What a blessing your family is to you! I remember cutting down live trees every year for us, enjoy the smell! ❤️🐝👱🏻♀️🐰🐾
