happy FRIDAY! it’s been a hot minute since i did one of these but with zach back at school, life resuming it’s ‘normal’ schedule and the babes at their hilarious prime, i simply don’t want to forget all their sweetness. the girls are off school for the month of january making for a very open schedule to fill with lots of fun.

park hangs with the crew
my whole heart in these…goodness gracious what a little sunshine and warmer temps can do for the soul! we had a heat wave with temps nearing 60 early this week so we packed up the bikes/scooters {hence the helmets} and headed out for a full morning at one of our favorite parks. mills has grown SO MUCH since the last time we were there and he was so independent on the slides and equipment… everything but walking the bridge that he insisted on holding ‘y-ya’s’ hand for. goldfish snacks on the bench and we were simply the happiest crew around. the perfect pick-me-up before temps dropped back down in the 20’s!

daily devotional
one of my focuses in this new year has been to better myself…slow down a bit and re-evaluate God’s direction for me and our family. it’s so easy to get caught up in the day to day and one of the things i let slip was my alone time with Him. i found a new devotional that a little over a week into it, i’m really enjoying. it’s short enough that i can read it in a minute or two and then take time to reflect or be in the word. if you’re looking for something simple, i think this is the perfect start regardless of whether your walk with jesus is new + fresh or whether you’ve had a relationship with the lord forever.

back in the workout game
i also, unintentionally, let my workout game slip to the wayside…between pregnancy, the holidays and just plain being exhausted, i made a whole lot of excuses to stay away from the gym but it’s time to get back to it! mentally, for me, i feel 100x better, happier, centered….whatever you want to call it when i’m taking the time to get those endorphins going! i cringe setting my alarm for 4:40 in the morning but it’s the only time i can truly set aside for myself! i’m being kind to myself and also realistic that i am growing a human… if i don’t get to bed at a decent time or am up 5x in the middle of the night…you best believe that alarm is getting turned off. luckily, i have an amazing workout buddy who holds me accountable and gets my tush in gear that early!

UD cheerleaders
oh mylanta. if there is anything sweeter than the face of a little girl who’s dreams are coming true… ever since zach and i took the kids to a UD game a couple months ago, lila has been non-stop begging to be a cheerleader and dance with the big cheerleaders on the floor. dance class has only fueled that fire so when grammy + grampy got the girls cheerleading uniforms for christmas and surprised them with getting them down on the floor with the cheerleaders…. thank heavens for pictures and video because these are THE SWEETEST pics i’ve ever seen!! lila’s been practicing her moves for months, paired with the cheer. good golly.

growing baby sis
i haven’t done a whole lot of updating on this pregnancy but i was reminded yesterday what a blessing it’s been to be carrying our fourth sweet babe. at one point we were told that would never happen and while yes we chose alternative options for family planning, i simply couldn’t feel more thankful for the opportunity for all these sweet kicks. i’m already dreaming about who she will look like, what personality traits she will pick up from who and just what special plans God will have for her.
It’s always good to stop and be reminded of the good stuff – the stuff that matters and how good God is. Thankful!
