one of the coolest parts about blogging for me has been the opportunity to explore and experience with our family so when we were invited to check out great wolf lodge for their summer camp-in campaign i was so excited! i’m in no way obligated to share about our experience on the blog but i had so many questions about the day and we seriously had so much fun, i had to share! GWL has been on my bucket list to take the kids to for 2 years now and we just hadn’t had the time yet {you know, having a bunch of babies and all!}…but i think it worked out for the best because the kids are at seriously the perfect age to make this trip absolute perfection!!
i’m already working on scheduling a second visit because it was just that much fun… one of my insta friends suggested looking into a birthday party there and we just might need to make that happen!!
while it’s not exactly in our backyard, it’s right next to kings island, which we have passes to so we’ve driven by hundreds of times and each time i say, man we HAVE to go! i knew it was big from the outside but honestly, i had no idea just how big it really was until we stepped foot inside!
great wolf lodge is known for their overnight stays with their ginormous indoor waterpark but i didn’t realize they also have the option for just a day pass {which is what we did!} as well as an outside pool area that is absolute perfection for younger kids!
a lot of questions about how we managed with 4 kids… it was just the two of us, we didn’t have help but really, we both felt like we could handle it just fine. we signed up for this gig with 4 kids and it’s just our motto that we make memories as a family and we do it together. zach and i work really well as a team and he is equally as invested as i am in diaper changes, getting in the pool and interchanges with me. he regularly wears maisley and that’s key for us to get out as a family of 6 and feel safe especially in an environment like this. we pretty much stay together as a whole crew unless i’m feeding maisley or one of us took one of the big girls on a tube ride…when that happened the other had the 3 in a ‘safe’ area that we could stay together. the 3 big kids wore their puddle jumpers the entire time inside the waterpark but we did take them off to play in the outside pool because it was pretty shallow and way less crowded.
it seriously was the best day. we played hooky from naps, left absolutely exhausted and had the time of our lives. i live for these days hanging as a family of 6 and we sure lived it up!
thanks for having us, great wolf lodge! we’ll see you soon!
