well, well, well mr… this growing business needs to STOP!
apparently i missed 7 months …and almost missed 8 months too….and didn’t realize until i sat down to write this one… 3rd child probs. sorry, buddy.
SO much has changed since you were 6 months, we’re in the season of change and i can’t keep uppppppp!

what’s new?
literally everything. that’s what’s new.

you got 2 teeth that broke through a week or so ago and good night buddy, if you could get it back together in the sleeping department now, thaaat’d be great!

speaking of sleep. bud. you have slept through the night since you were like 5 or 6 weeks old and ever since these teeth started giving you trouble and you got sick, night time hasn’t exactly been our best friend. you’re such a daddy’s boy, you find so much comfort in sleeping on his chest and while we’re totally needing to get back on it, it is pretty precious.

you’re rolling all. over. the. place. both ways and getting stuck under everything. you’re no longer to be trusted on the floor as you find literally every speck of dirt or clump of dog hair… in the hospital you snatched a foam heart, i found you with a mouth full of little hair ties and have also caught a piece of foil in there. #toddlersisters

also sitting up without tumbling {rarely}, and alllllllmost pulling to stand! SO proud when you’re standing like a big kid, the face… oy that face bud, you’re perfection.

you recently started refusing bottles…which i think i discovered the reason…and now you’re back to it. such a mama’s boy in that department, you LOVE to nurse, and i can’t say i’m hateful about it.

the sass… this makes me laugh…buddy you’re starting to get a temper, mainly if you have something that is taken away {see also: dangerous anything that would go in your mouth} or if you’re wanting company and you get set down somewhere. it’s so cute and the lip curl that comes along with it is THE sweetest thing in the world.

food. wooooah buddy, you’re onto foods and LOVING It! we’ve been doing some baby led weaning and while i’m not super hard core, it has definitely made life a bit easier. i made the girls’ baby food from scratch, all the time, and let me tell you, baby food is expeeeensive. this time around i throw a little something on your tray and you’ve gotten pretty good at it!! your fave is mandarin oranges, yogurt + oatmeal + peanut butter and applesauce!

dada dada dada. all day errryday. you’re a babbling machine and your sweet little whisper cooing voice is the best thing in the world.

you LOVE to play games, peek-a-boo being a favorite…followed closely by bouncing anything and silly faces with those sissy’s + pat-a-cake.

toys. you’re such a 3rd child…you don’t want anything to do with baby toys and will quickly toss them to the side to get a hold of the girls’ big kid stuff. see also choking hazard everything. except your play table. pulling to stand on that is your most favorite accomplishment.

sample 8 month schedule

8am: wake + nurse
930am: breakfast {usually PB + toast, cheerios + berries or oatmeal + yogurt + PB}
10:30-12: nap
12:15 nurse
2:30-4:00 nap
4pm: nurse
6pm: dinner {whatever we’re having}
play / bath / bedtime routine
8pm nurse
8:30 bedtime
11pm dreamfeed

all of that to say that this kid is literally the most easy going kid ever. if we’re out and about he’ll catnap in his carseat or can even get away with a 3 hour nap later in the afternoon depending on what’s going on for the day. it’s all give or take 30-60 minutes but he usually will eat 4-5oz when given a bottle and sometimes will eat everything given to him while others barely touching any real food. food is still just a play thing right now as he discovers different textures and taste since he is solely relying on breastmilk for nutrition.

sleep

we had a bit of a setback a couple weeks ago…the whole house had the crud and throw in a couple teeth in there and poor buddy was miserable. he woke frequently due to coughing and not being able to breathe very well, so he wound up sleeping on one of our chests for multiple nights in a row. we really created quite the monster but i am happy to report we’re on day 4 of allllmost a full night’s sleep. he will still wake around 1-2am but can be snuggled back in by daddy and will sleep the rest of the night. i discovered that if i went in to get him, he assumed he would be eating and i really didn’t want to be nursing him in the middle of the night since i knew he wasn’t hungry….so, daddy’s been on night duty and trust me when i say while he loves those snuggles, he is excited to catch those snuggles during the day!

miller lee

oh mills…you continue to be the most adored little man and rock our socks off on a daily basis. you have changed SO much in the last 8months and are developing the sweetest, most precious little personality ever. i know i’m biased but there isn’t a soul you meet who doesn’t swoon over your cuteness. time is passing by quicker than i can keep track of and i’m doing my best to soak in every little snuggle and ‘oooh’ you give me. i never ever want to forget those sweet cheeks nuzzled in my neck and the way you search for your daddy the moment you hear his voice. your sisters think you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to them and constantly want to hold, feed, rock and play with you. i’m on borrowed time over here before you get this crawling thing down and before i know it you’re going to be running circles around my feet with the girls.
you’re sweet little toothy grin is amongst my most favorite sights and the way you hug my neck makes me melt every time. you love your pups and quite literally scream in delight when they come over for lovies. you’re the most ticklish little guy on the planet and that squeal when you can’t catch your breath has an entire room in laughter.
you’re the best, bub, we love you SO much.
