well we’re on a slipper slope to the big O N E  YEAR mark and as i was looking through these pictures i realized just how non-babyish they are!! we officially put away the 6month clothes yesterday and he’ll be in 9 months for all of a week {waited a little too long for that one..} before the 12 month clothes are taking all the space. SO many changes this month, so many firsts and as usual, he’s the fan favorite in this house.

we had his 9 month well-check last week and he’s riding the 50th percentile in height + head but falling a bit under the 10th in weight…these skinny minny babes, i tell ya!! as we went through all the normal questions about development, it was fun talking about what a sweet boy he is and how much
we’ve entered busy town and absolutely nothing is safe anymore. aside from rolling around all over the place, he has {literally as of yesterday} started scooting and pull-crawling if that’s even a thing. he’s a bit behind in the gross motor department but with his easy-going personality is to blame for being content basically wherever he is!

we have entered BUSYtown and let me tell you, he is into EVERYTHING. everything he shouldn’t be, i should add. he’s over the baby toys and basically only wants the teeny legos, the remotes or anything with buttons, and the tumbleweed dog hair floating around.

he is loved. and i mean L O V E D… the girls are all over him, all the time, and even trying to pick him up and drag him all over as their own personal baby doll. they smother him in kisses, bring him every toy on the planet and even tolerate his hair grabbing, which he is a pro at.

sooo, what’s new?!

it’s this season we’re in…literally every single day there is something new!!!

sounds… mama {finally!!!} and i caught it on camera and then turned into a big ole puddle on the floor… finally!!!! obviously not purposeful, but that will come 😉

CRAWLING! well. almost. and it’s new… like yesterday, new. he is SO motivated by these little matching cards the girls have and it’s the most uncoordinated little inchworm crawl which is hilarious. i caught it on IG yesterday and have watched it 400x since then. we’re working on the all-4 crawling and it’ll be coming shortly… bring out the baby gates!

naps…for the most part mills will catch a brief cat nap in the middle of the day, followed by a solid 2-3 hour nap when the girls nap…hollaaa! sleep is hangin tight at a solid 10-12 hours at night, going down between 8-9 and waking between 7-830 each morning.

OPINIONS… good golly, this is new this month and it’s so freaking funny. mainly regarding food and if something is taken away, it is so funny to watch him form opinions about what he thinks he should have…that big ole clump of dog hair? SO offended if it is removed from his mouth. that burrito on your plate? better believe this kid wants it in his mouth. and if he was wanting water instead… ha, watch out!

speaking of food… he can hold his own and is basically eating his weight in food. he’ll eat virtually anything i put on his plate and really the only things we’re not giving him yet are honey + shellfish. we’ve been limiting his cheese and starch intake because he’s gotten constipated but he LOVES food. favs continue to be peanut butter, raspberries, carrots, pears, and brown rice/guac/tomatoes/corn/sour cream combo.

he’s mastered the pincer grasp and picks up cheerios, beads, tiny legos… you name it with finesse.

he’s mr. social and wants to be in the middle of everything but also can entertain himself rolling around the floor.

belly laugh. it’s my fav… basically any silly sound or the girls jumping and the dogs barking, easy entertainment around here!

9am: breakfast {raspberries, water, oatmeal + PB + yogurt}

12:30: lunch {carrots, deli chicken, pears}

745pm: nurse + 4oz bottle

like i mentioned in his 8 month update, this kid is the easiest going baby i’ve ever met. if we’re out and about he’ll cat nap when he needs to and rarely gets messed up at night… all that to say poor guy gets a cold or teeth are moving {or who knows what it is} and he turns into mr. sensitive and needs all the lovies. for the most part, he can adapt to any schedule and is one happy camper!

oh bud. you’ve officially been on the outside longer than the inside and you’re just the best. i can’t even remember what our days were like before you and you are the biggest ray of sunshine in all of our lives. you’re happy, easy-going demeanor is the icing to your cuteness and watching you develop into your own little self has us SO proud.
i can’t believe we’re wrapping up all of your ‘firsts’ and topped off this month with your first meeting of the easter bunny! you’re getting into SO much trouble these days and yet somehow think ‘no’ is the funniest word on the planet. i’m fairly confident you’ll never actually get in trouble because you flash those baby blues and get basically whatever you want.
you LOVE your daddy. like a HARD love that makes anyone chopped liver as soon as you hear his voice. i’m 99.9% confident as soon as you stop nursing i’ll be a thing of the past and you’ll be attached to his leg… you’re getting better by the day and i have no idea how it’s possible but you give me baby fever and if i could clone you, i would.
your smile, your laugh, the way you hug when you need extra lovies and whisper babble as you fall asleep…
gosh, buddy, we LOVE you SO much.
