office parties. family get-togethers. holiday family pictures. girls night + date nights… the number of gatherings that require some form of dressing your crew for the occasion is at its peak. trust me when i say you can find whatever outfit you need at the most adorable shops!

i snagged the cutest {and i mean seriously the cutest} outfits for the kids at crazy 8’s, then stopped by motherhood maternity to dress this bump and, finally, completed the look at charlotte russe with the most affordable + trendy accessories! {I snagged two hats for just $6 each!}

the girls had such a fun time helping me pick it all out, playing dress up and being goofy… life’s only getting better and better!

full day shopping experience + gifts

i WAY underestimated the amount of opportunities The Mall at Fairfield Commons has to offer… but i’m here to tell you, if you have a full list of things to get accomplished, it is possible to knock every item off your to-do list and have a blast doing it! from your hard-to-shop for relative to entertaining the kids, there is truly an entire day’s worth {and more!!} to keep you all occupied.

kick off your day with some shopping, {while the kids are all in great moods} knocking that hard-to-shop for family member who loves homemade unique gifts at The Window Guy {perfect for state pride individuals!}. then stop in at Box Lunch to pick up those quirky gifts {harry potter lovers: this is your place!!} and feel good knowing that for every $10 spent, a meal is donated to someone in need!

your kids will probably need a break by this point, and you can quickly head to The Yard to get a little energy out and have some fun while you’re at it! from the ground-level ‘pool table’ with soccer balls, to the giant ‘connect 4’ board, kids of all ages can get a little re-boot before tackling some more of those to-do items.

some of your familiar favorites are, of course, available one of my go-to gifts for teachers and anyone you want to show a small token of appreciation to can be found at Bath + Body Works…and who doesn’t love smelling + trying on every sample of wonderful scents! i always try to stay away from the breakables and keep miller contained in a stroller or with daddy!

as a busy mama, i’ve come to appreciate the ‘experience’ type of gifts the most…the ones you can make memories with, spend time together, and the kids don’t toss to the side after 5 minutes of playing. from Build-a-Bear to painting pottery…and even a simple $5 train ride for even your littlest babes! these are all activities that would be super fun to sneak in through your day, or to swing in to get a gift certificate to gift to that kiddo in your life.

food is plenty and there are so many options throughout the mall, including treats for a sweet tooth craving, a snack on the run, quick bite to eat in the food court or even a full-service sit down meal. you’ll never go hungry AND there are plenty of options to keep even the pickiest of eaters happy.

santa’s arrival

the highlight of our entire trip to The Mall at Fairfield Commons had to be the anticipation + meeting of the sweetest, most genuine santa. dayton children’s santa’s village {located in the center court on the lower level} was beautifully decorated and had the sweetest staff!

insiders tip: make SURE to simplify your santa experience and by utilizing the FASTPASS reservation system! FastPass enables you to pre-order your photo package and reserve your time to see santa. the wait was well-over 2 hours when we visited and while you may be okay on a weekday, it is well worth it to set your time and avoid the lines….especially with little ones!!
