a friend introduced me to the Honest Co. when i was pregnant with the girls and then soon after gave me a diaper bag kit with a few essentials including shampoo + body wash, diaper cream, and face + body lotion.

if i’m being completely honest (we are talking about the Honest Co. right?!), i didn’t love everything, but the things that i did love, i reeeeally loved.

for those of you who aren’t familiar, let’s do a quick introduction to this company i have come to know!

Jessica-Alba-The-Honest-Co.jpg
the Honest Co. was founded in 2012 by Jessica Alba and Christopher Gavigan providing safe, non-toxic and eco-friendly baby products. it has since then grown to include diapers, formula, vitamins, swim suits, carriers, cleaning, health + beauty, and home products.. really there is something for everyone.

along the way, i have had the opportunity to try out a variety of products..things i have fallen in love with, and things i haven’t even finished the bottle because i don’t like it. let me give you a list of my favs and what i usually put in our monthly bundles, along with a review of some of the items i haven’t loved.

i have opted to use the bundle option because we use enough products that it saves us quite a bit to purchase the monthly subscription. there are a couple of bundles they offer, however we have only tried the “Essentials Bundle”.

when choosing a bundle, you are able to choose which items to be included and how frequently you receive them. the essentials bundle is $35.95 + shipping which sounded like a lot.. but when i can get laundry detergent, belly balm, sun screen, bug spray and shampoo + body wash..i’m saving a lot.

so. here’s my thoughts:

shampoo + body wash
: we go through this stuff like its our job…mainly because we all use it. it’s gentle enough for the girls sensitive skin and baby hair + tough enough for zach to scrub off his long day of hard work. i’ve always used the lavender and i’m quite content sticking to it!

face + body lotion: another essential for us, this has quickly become part of our night time routine and for good reason. piper struggles with eczema and while on her rough patches and face we use coconut oil, we use this wonderfulness everywhere else.

bubble bath: now that the girls are officially taking real baths in the bathtub without being in a bumbo, bath time has become a super fun part of their day! i swear there is something magical in bubble baths and the scent is just one of my favs!

organic belly balm: this could be my fav… i wish i had known about this product when i was pregnant with the girls because i never found anything i was really happy with. my pregnancy left me with quite the battlefield of stretch marks and i can honestly say i have seen a decrease in how severe they are. it is so hydrating and never leaves stains on my shirts.

IMG_1017.JPGjasmine gardenia soy candle: not my fav. actually i didn’t love it at all and stuck it away in my ’emergency only’ basket. it just doesn’t have much of a pleasant scent in my opinion and is rather expensive for something that i could burn 3x and then it’d be gone. if you like it, by all means, enjoy!!

IMG_1020.JPG4-in-1 laundry packs: i was super hesitant to try these because i’m really picky when it comes to detergent. i’m either a DIY laundry detergent (that i love) or a tide girl. the girls are eating and exploring + zach works with grease, oil and dirt… so I want something that will actually clean our clothes. i was so pleasantly surprised by how clean our clothes were… really for the  ease of throwing a pack in the drawer, i’m sold and am now on our third pack.

IMG_1021.JPGmineral sunscreen: we’ve run the gamut on sunscreen and i was looking for something reliable and safe for the girls. we certainly have used other sunscreens and have been happy with plenty of others but added into this bundle it winds up being cheap! we have used 30spf spray on us + 50spf on the girls. sunscreen is so expensive it’s been nice to stock up!

bug spray: add this in to my other favs… i was so excited when this came in my first order, but then i used it and was blown away. we spend most of our time outside and the evenings out in the country get b.u.g.g.y. i was so impressed to find something safe for the girls to keep the bugs off them and bonus: it smells great!
if you’ve been interested in giving some of these products a try, now is the time.

IMG_1023.JPGwipes: super pumped these got here yesterday.. i haven’t had a chance to try them yet but i’ll keep you posted!

organic healing balm: this is another one i’m not too fond of.  it was really oily and sticky… it is supposed to be like a salve but i just really didn’t enjoy it.

diaper rash cream: again, not my fav. the girls have only had a handful of diaper rashes (hallelujah!) but this just didn’t seem to do much for it.  now it stays in my diaper bag because it rarely gets used.

Product-1-slide_with_zoom-f0d08d87-53de-4b75-b0ab-b21fa55fd408_normal_slide.jpgdiapers: i haven’t jumped on this yet and am really wanting to… mainly because they’re cute and i mean seriously. two baby bums in these pretty little things?! YES! i’ll let you know when this happens!
