a fall-filled weekend

goooood morning, monday!
i hope you’re checking in here feeling refreshed for a good week ahead! we had SUCH a good weekend and i’m scrolling through all these pics feeling so blessed for the time we spent together. we have been SO busy lately and this weekend we had time to slow down and spend some great quality time together.

friday
we had a friends we met through the twins club 2 years ago over for a family date night. we’ve both added to the fam over the two years and it’s so fun to see our kids grow up together… their twins are about the same age as the girls and we finally had our first night of being able to turn a movie on at bedtime while the adults hung out! the phones stayed put away and we laughed, played games and loved on each other. it’s amazing the relationships i’ve built through this club…it’s truly been such a blessing for me and if you have twins, i would strongly suggest you seek out a twins club near you!

saturday
we kicked off the day with a lazy morning in jams watching cartoons before heading out for the day. autumn fest is one of learning tree farm’s largest public events and we have grown to love the farm! mammaw + pappaw {zach’s parents} were able to join us for all the fun and it was the perfect chilly fall weather for the event!

duck + sheep herding.

.face painting.
a ladybug + a ‘whimsical’ scarecrow…that admittedly turned out a little more scary than anticipated…so much so that a stranger complimented her on her ‘day of the dead’ painting…. REALLY?! she’s 3. anyways. maybe not so whimsical.

pony rides
and the sleepiest, cutest little pumpkin i ever did see.

we headed home for naps after a quick pitstop for a disastrous round of family pics and recharged for a super fun afternoon + evening!
apple picking could be one of my favorite parts of the season so while on the search for a hayride that lila has been begging us for for weeks, we made a stop at tuken’s for apple picking! they have THE best apples and we picked ourselves a solid 10lbs worth of apples!
send me your favorite recipes because we’re going to be busy over here!

after snacking on a few too many apples, it was time to fill our bellies so we headed out to the pretzel festival in search of a jalapeño pretzel…. the food was actually terrible and the biggest waste of money BUT we did have one stellar caramel apple + a fantastic time busting out the dance moves to the live music!
it truly was the perfect end to such a fun family day… these days just get better and better!

sunday

another lazy morning filled with cartoons + wrapping up the online grocery shopping while the kids all ate breakfast. zach needed to get some mowing done + the moment mills heard the mower he was twinkle-toeing all over the house, banging on the doors to get outside with his daddy. hands-down his favorite activity on the planet, we decided to let mills have a daddy day while mama + the big girls went out for a fun day!
we stopped at sizemore’s farm for the first time and the girls had a blast! the playground was such a hit + looking at all the trinkets in the barn was super fun! while it’s not a pick-your-own-pumpkin and they were all lying out in front of the barn, the girls literally had the time of their lives and thought the dragon ride was the coolest!

the rest of the day was spent running errands, unloading groceries, making dinner, playing outside + an early bed time for all.
it was the most fun, fall-filled weekend making the best memories with the crew!

happy fall, y’all!
