athleisure style with stitch fix | march 2018

happy monday, friends! i tell ya, this first monday after daylight savings is a doooozy. i’m on my 2nd cup of coffee after an early morning workout with two babes doing some painting and another one taking a nap.
we had a great low-key weekend with a little bit of friends + family mixed with jams at home. friday we went over to our best friends’ house {both of our best friends from childhood married each other which is super fun…and they bought my grandparent’s house in the country after living with zach and i as newlyweds!}..anwyays, we got the babes together for an easy night of pizza and cake pops for some girl talk with our other best friend while the boys did some adventuring outside {see also: i have no idea what they do out there…}.
i have used stitch fix for coming up on 5 years now as my main way to get clothes in my closet. while i’ve always been a shopper and love clothes, i don’t have the time any more to get out with 3 babes, but more importantly, my body has changed so much after becoming ‘mama’ that my wardrobe has just needed some updating. things don’t fit me quite right, and ‘date night’ attire looks differently these days!

note to stylist

i asked my stylist for a full athleisure fix this month and she delivered! comfort is the name of the game these days and i was really wanting some pieces that could be paired with some sneaks for a very casual + athletic outfit complete with a cup of coffee, some sneaks + a top knot.
if you haven’t heard of athleisure yet think athletic + leisure wear!

stitch fix

if you’re not familiar with stitch fix, here’s the run down…and if you are, hop down to the reveal.

1. you fill out your style profile, answering all sorts of questions on sizing, pricing, preferences, colors, etc. you can also write notes about likes/dislikes. linking your board on Pinterest so your stylist can see what you like is a huge help so your stylist can get a good picture of the types of things you like!
 2. schedule your fix! you are typically charged a $20 {waived for this month!!} styling fee however, if you keep any item (or more) that fee goes towards those items. i always recommend keeping at least one item or you are essentially giving away $20.
 3.  best mail day evvvvver.  you will receive 5 items (clothing, jewelry, shoes, accessories, whatever you prefer). i personally only want clothing in my fix so I just always let my stylist know.
 4. take 3 days to decide what you want to keep/send back (in a postage paid envelope, of course).  use this time to try everything on.  match what’s in your closet, use your jewelry, walk around in it… this is my favorite part. i hate buying a shirt only to get home and realize i have nothing to wear with it. with stitch fix, this isn’t a problem!! bonus: if you keep all 5 items you will receive 25% off your entire fix, yaaaas!
it should be noted that while I have chosen to receive fixes randomly when i choose (when i have an event coming or need something new), you can also opt to receive fixes on a schedule (monthly, 2x/year, etc.). i started stitch fix 5 years ago and have randomly received fixes then!
**stitch fix also offers men’s, women’s, maternity and plus size!! you can also purchase gift cards to give which make a perfect surprise present for anyone in your life!
if you see anything that you like below, feel free to pin away and/or ask your stylist in the notes section of your next fix for something similar! i am the queen of copying other fixes!

stitch fix box #21

pullover {stitch fix} | leggings {stitch fix} |  sneakers

1. loveapella – hoy cowl neck knit top

i can already feel myself regretting sending this one back. it was SO soft and i loved the asymetrical detail.. i think when i was trying it on, i was thinking i would pair it with jeans and i really didn’t need anymore winter tops for jeans… sitting here looking at it paired with these leggings though, i feel like it really is the perfect top to still look put together…oy. the return guilt is real.
verdict: return

2. market + spruce – Tara V neck knit top

i SO badly wanted this to work because in my head, this was the perfect top to go with these leggings…i wanted to size up one so i could wear it off the shoulder and i could have some more bum coverage but they were out of stock in a bigger size, so i knew it just wasn’t going to work. it’s super soft, light weight and absolutely perfect for spring… i just wanted it a little more over-sized! zach was making some joke about me riding a horse when i was attempting to stand awkwardly so most of these were me cracking up!
verdict: return

3. good hYOUman – camellia graphic detail legging

well, i officially found my favorite leggings on the face of the earth… i’m clearly wearing them in 3 outfits here and when my stylist mentioned they felt like butter, she was right. holy moly…they’re SO cozy and my favorite part is the waistband. i still have a bit of a pooch and often find waistbands to emphasize the extra loving and i hate fold-over waists. looking at these pics they do a little bit, but i honestly think it has more to do with the tops than the bottoms.. anyways. i wore them again this morning to workout and i loved the detail + how comfortable they were!! MAJOR win!
verdict: keep

4. project social t – jonele front pocket hoodie

another one i’m already regretting sending back… i did some major closet cleaning and felt like i should finally ditch my sweatshirts/pants from high school and wanted some other options that were still feminine. while i like the spring color, i wanted something with a little more detail/feminine touches…but again, looking at it now, i’m feeling a little sad i sent it back! ha!
verdict: return

shirt | joggers {stitch fix}

5. tommy hilfiger – poling printed jogger pant

the one thing i specifically asked for {joggers} and i sent them back..ONLY because i found them at the rack for 50% off and after that i just couldn’t justify paying full price.. .i LOVED the stars and would seriously rock these year round..but especially coming into the summer. they’re causual ,cute and nothing better than pairing them with some sneaks and a tee!
verdict – return

whether you’re looking for something for easter {i have an extra fix coming in a week or two!} or needing to update your closet for spring, let your stylist know!
AND if you need an easy easter gift for your mama, best friend or the man in your life, stitch fix gift cards also make the perfect personal gift!

  1. Love the leggings you picked! The gray sweater was also so good though! It’s a tough call though, I’m sure when you have a different style in your mind.

    1. Ha, I used to!! I’ve gotten better at ONLY getting the items I absolutely LOVED and couldn’t live without!

    1. I thought of you specifically when I opened it up!! You’d love them, they’re SO soft!!

  2. I haven’t tried StitchFix yet, but post baby and struggling to find my style I think I need to. These clothes are so cute and I had no idea you could request such casual items.

    1. My favorite time to use Stitch Fix is always post-baby when nothing fits right and I’m over maternity clothes, need nursing friendly options that make me feel good about myself!! It’s the best pick-me up during that first year!
