Disinfectant Spray | Thieves

Non-toxic Thieves Cleaner disinfectant spray recipe to help prevent the spread of viruses and bacteria;  can be used on hard or soft surfaces!

I had a home full of all the cleaning things – the infamous blue glass + window spray, iron out {hello, well water!}, toilet scrub, the yellow bottle dusting spray, air fresheners, laundry detergents that smell for daysssss.. but then one day after my strokes at the age of 32, I took a harder look at all of the things we’re using in our homes, on our bodies and in the air we breathe. In our house alone, we have experienced cancer, diabetes, infertility, stroke… and at some point, I took a hard look at the products we were using and quite frankly, I didn’t like what I saw.

A toxic soup of chemicals with proven correlations to autoimmune conditions, cancer, infertility, respiratory illnesses… and more. And the gut punch?? I was spending a LOT of money on them!!!

Honestly, it was time to change something… and the moment I realized I had the power to truly decide what I welcome in our home, I found freedom {and saved us a bunch of money!!}.

I found natural, superior and SIMPLIFIED alternatives to everything I was using – because let’s face it. I’m a busy mama of 4, runnin a business and I just don’t have the time + money to be wasting on products that don’t work.

Enter Thieves Household Cleaner!

Okay, but what actually makes a true disinfectant and what is the difference between a cleaner, a disinfectant and a sanitizer?!

UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCES

TIER 1: CLEANERS

A cleaner refers to the removal of germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. A cleaner does NOT claim to kill germs. But by removing them, it lowers their numbers, and therefore, lowers the risk of spreading infection.

TIER 2: SANITIZERS

This category refers to using chemicals on a surface to reduce bacteria by at least 99.9%

TIER 3: DISINFECTANT

A disinfectant refers to using chemicals on a surface to kill germs. This process does not clean dirty surfaces or remove germs. But by killing germs on a surface AFTER cleaning it, disinfectant further lowers the risk of spreading infection.
PROPER USE
Clean surfaces before disinfecting! When disinfecting, leave the solution on the surface for at least 10 minutes before wiping away.
Use the proper dilution ratio.
