{good} friday favs

it’s been one of those weeks that just hasn’t turned out like i was hoping… especially coming into one of my favorite holidays, i’ve been feeling a little defeated and wanted to take a minute to reflect on all the good going on because even in the midst of chaos, He is so, so good!
so here’s the little things i’m celebrating this week…

..one..
sister hens
a little update:
miller came down with the flu{s} on monday night and it’s been a train wreck. poor baby got hit hard and because he’s still so young, we wound up in the bad cycle of dehydration since he hadn’t really eaten {nursed/bottles} since monday paired with high fevers. he luckily got started on tamiflu wednesday morning after testing positive and then a chest X-ray cleared him of pneumonia, thank God. his fevers have been hanging around 102-104+ and when he gets above 104 his breathing really is affected. we landed ourselves an er visit on wednesday night for fluids and to check on his breathing.. and have pretty much been attending to our boy around the clock.

fever reducer meds every 3 hours, suctioning every 2 hours, tamiflu 2x/day, nasal decongestion + anti-inflammatory drops every 8 hours, fluids every 2-3 hours in a medicine dropper, sippy cup + bottle.. and of course praying no one else gets it, which i’m thinking is inevitable.
these big sister girls LOVE their baby brother and have been so concerned when he’s at the doctor hospital, or whimpering while being held…they’re the sweetest trio and over the last couple of days these girls are about the only ones who can bring a little smile to his face.

since then, little lila came down with the

..two..
our pediatricians office
i have to give a shoutout to our pediatrician’s office…as if i didn’t love them already with everything we’ve been through since the girls were tiny preemies going in for weight checks… and then with piper’s craziness… they have been SO wonderful while mills has been sick, too. i’ve called countless number of times between the hours of 11pm-5am and they answer every single one of my questions, walk me through when we can handle it at home and send us in when it’s needed. they NEVER make me feel ridiculous for calling, ALWAYS help out when we’re in the office and carrying on when our circus is crazy and truly, i can’t imagine navigating this parenthood thing without them. we’ve seen every single doctor in their office and each one is just as wonderful as the next. i could go on and on but really, i just need to send over coffee by the bucketload and probably some donuts as well.

..three..
internet friends to real friends
i never would have guessed that just over two years ago this little space would have brought me so many new relationships but every single time i share an exciting moment or asking for some prayers…and all those moments in between… when i opened up my email at about 4am in between counting miller’s breaths and saw the sweetest little email  gift from brittney, delivering alllll the coffee, i was all sorts of emotional. be it the exhaustion and lack of sleep or truly just how i appreciative i am, i am so thankful for these internet friends who have turned into real friends.

..four..
signs of spring
the original plan was for us to host easter on sunday and with the crud going around and miller not quite out of the 5-7 day window, our doc instructed us to cancel our plans. while i am absolutely heartbroken because i love having everyone over to celebrate jesus, we are still enjoying all of the signs of spring we had dressed the house up with, especially these pink + white tulips! surely spring is sure to follow! 🙂
ps…did you know you’re supposed to put a penny {made before 1981} in your tulips to prevent their drooping?!

..five..
jesus
He is risen and
above all else, it is the true reason behind this weekend and for that I am thankful!

have a blessed weekend, friends!
