maisley meets the big sisters | NICU fresh 48

we are home, finding our new normal + i’ve had a ton of requests for the birth story…. and i promise it’s coming… it seems as though every time i sit down to finish it i can’t seem to find the words. everything was so unexpected and happened so quickly… we just weren’t ready.
for being only 34 weeks, maisley did amazing but still needed some help in the neonatal intensive care unit {NICU}, which again, we weren’t planning on.

so when our plans for my sweetest friend, lauren {ivory lamb photography} to come and photograph the kids meeting maisley when she was born were put on hold due to her early arrival… we improvised and she still managed to make my vision come to life…it just looked a bit differently than i had planned, and somehow, even more beautiful.

due to flu season and the age restrictions for visitors in NICU {to keep these tiny babes healthy + safe}, miller wasn’t able to meet maisley until we went home. i wasn’t going to have the girls come up to see her either but wound up changing my mind last minute and asked lauren to come document it all. the moment they peeked their heads into maisley’s room, i lost it. my big girls… the sweetest big sisters were SO proud. so gentle. so sweet… and all the memories came flooding back to when they were born and in NICU… it truly was the most special moments captured. and to see it all on video, too…. i still haven’t stopped crying.

welcome, little miss maisley…we love you SO, so big.

the biggest and most heartfelt thank you to ivory lamb photography for quietly capturing one of my most treasured moments in time like a fly on the wall… i will forever be thankful!
