maisley starts goldfish swim school | #growingupgoldfish

it’s been a LONG time since i’ve shared any updates on the crew’s progress at goldfish swim school and y’all…there is SO much to share!! everyone has made SO much progress and i can’t wait to share it all with you, but the biggest update to our love for goldfish and #growingupgoldfish is with our teeniest little fishy, maisley girl!!

girlfriend started her swim lessons a month or so ago and she is LOVING IT!!

maisley is in the youngest class, mini 1, which ranges from 4-15 months. adult participation is required in the mini 1 and 2 class and this is zach’s special time of bonding and focusing on these skills with her. he did this with miller {starting at 4 months!} and he really enjoyed this time with him as well.

skills focused {mini 1}:

participates in group songs
comfort in the water and in class setting
successfully conditioned with water in face
breath control in underwater dip – 5 seconds
grasp reflex developed
wall hold {assisted}
climb out “fin (elbow), fin, belly, up!” {assisted}
underwater dip & turn back to step {assisted}
relaxed in a sea otter back float {assisted}
..and more!

some things haven’t changed in the last 3 years since we started lessons at goldfish swim school…
the tropical, year round, 90 degree pool
the viewing gallery with floor to ceiling windows to watch the lessons
the AMAZING staff of swim instructors, lifeguards, managers and owners
the snack shack that the big kids can spend the quarter they earn for doing their job with great listening ears during lessons {and mama can snag a starbucks coffee when needed 😉
small class sizes
kid-friendly hair drying station, showers and changing rooms
and our kids STILL love going to goldfish just as much now as they did their very first day!!…A TON!

**pro mom tip: if your lessons are in the evening, bring your child’s pajamas so they can go from shower to jams and be ready for bed when you get home!

if you’re interested in starting your kids in swim lessons, i could go on and on about why we love goldfish swim school, but our children’s journey’s speak for themselves. this will be the year that we have two independent swimmers in the pool and mills isn’t too far behind. his love for the water and swimming is a clear testament to the success of their programs!
