makeup favs for mama | friday favs

it’s friiiidaaaay!
everyone’s back to school, we’re all back to healthy + even better, LONG WEEKEND! .. and i’m over here contemplating how many more days i can go before washing my hair. i was talking to a girlfriend the other day about our makeup routines and ohhh how it’s changed over the last few years. these days i keep it pretty simple and usually only have a couple minutes to throw myself together before someone is eating something they shouldn’t, we’re running out the door or there’s a puzzle catastrophe.
t o d d l e r s
i LOVE makeup…always have, but as we’ve added to our crazy crew, i’m all about things that save me time + effort. i have a handful of favs that are my go-to’s that i use on a daily basis and make my routine super easy + fast..like i’m out the door in less than 4 minutes spent on makeup.

lash extensions + microblading
lash extensions…i started making this investment about 2 years ago and it is hands down the number one reason i can get out of the door in less than 3 minutes. if i was stranded on an island with one piece of makeup, it would be mascara. i love having dramatic lashes and feel like i can walk out of the house without an ounce of makeup on and still feel put together. i usually get them done every 4 weeks and take really good care of them so i have good retention. it is expensive, but its my splurge on myself…and i even get a nap in! i plan to do a full post on the process soon, promise!
microblading is next on this list. someone asked me a week or so ago {which got this post going} how i was liking them nearly 8 months later {you can read the original post HERE} and honestly, it’s the best. i had a touchup done 3 weeks ago for a spot that we both {my girl, misty does my lashes + microblading, so i see her frequently!} felt needed touched up and they’re perfection. i still have to pluck but other than that, they’re so low maintenance.

MAC studio fix powder + foundation
i picked up this foundation right after mills was born when i went into ulta desperate to find something with medium coverage that was a one-step application for foundation + powder. i am, by nature, VERY oily…mixed with my sweat tendencies, within like 5 hours, you usually can’t tell i ever put makeup on. this stuff stays put and i love how smooth it makes my skin feel + look. it’s worth every penny and in the realm of high end makeup, it’s really fairly cheap…$30 and it’s lasted well over a year and i still have a couple months left.

ulta radiance bronzer
i’ve learned over the years that most makeup is you pay for what you get… i don’t feel like that with many things, but i typically break out like a high schooler or it just doesn’t last and i’m throwing away whatever money i originally spent. this one though…is an exception. i learned a couple of months ago how to do really basic contouring and while i’m sure beauty experts would probably say i’m doing it wrong, i think it works for me! my bronzer is so old, they don’t even carry the same one and i’m pretty sure i paid like $4 for it originally, but i dug this out of some closet and it’s working great still!

tarte gleam team
i got this highlighting duo in a tarte bag that was on sale for $60…6 full sized items and it is amazing. i really only use the stick side but it’s getting close to running out so i’ll be switching sides i think soon! i use this on my cheek bones, just move the bronzer to give that ‘strobing’ effect. don’t even ask me what that really means…some youtube blogger had to walk me through it but i found what i like!

urban decay naked 3
after seeing so many people rave about how awesome this palette is, i put it on my christmas list and last year my in-laws surprised me with it! i wasn’t sure that it would be worth the investment but good golly….it’s amazing. the shadows stay put and they’re so perfect for layering all together. i have a few that are my go-to’s for a daily basis but

clinique pretty easy liquid eyelining pen
this has been my go-to liner pen since i started getting lash extensions…it goes on smooth + doesn’t damage my lashes when i take it off at the end of the day….and it stays put!!

buxom lip cream
after one of my best girls and i spent hours one night in ultra after a drink or two playing makeovers for THE best night ever, we both snagged a little tube and it’s my FAV. it has a plumping effect, meaning it’s tingly when you put it on…but it’s my fav! i have the color, ‘dolly’ which i think is perfect for fall..just enough color!
