vacation style with stitch fix | june 2018

it’s summmma and we’re soaking every bit of the longer days + warmer temps! summer also brings on the vacation fun and since it’s been a hot minute since it was summer and i wasn’t pregnant or with a newborn {or 2}, it’s time my wardrobe was updated. these days it’s nearly impossible to get out shopping so stitch fix is my go to when i need things for specific events or even a more general ‘summertime fix’. i always mention if i have a specific event coming up {miller’s birthday party}, if i want to try a specific trend {cold shoulder} or need a basic summer update.

if you’ve been waiting to try stitch fix for yourself, now is the time while your styling fee is waived!

note to stylist

for this fix, i asked my stylist to send beach vacation items for some upcoming trips this summer… i’m always chasing toddlers so comfort is a must! i also asked for a pair of wedges and i always love pieces that can be dressed up or down.

STITCH FIX

if you’re not familiar with stitch fix, here’s the run down…and if you are, hop down to the reveal.

1. you fill out your style profile, answering all sorts of questions on sizing, pricing, preferences, colors, etc. you can also write notes about likes/dislikes. linking your board on Pinterest so your stylist can see what you like is a huge help so your stylist can get a good picture of the types of things you like!
 2. schedule your fix! you are typically charged a $20 {waived for through THIS link} styling fee however, if you keep any item (or more) that fee goes towards those items. i always recommend keeping at least one item or you are essentially giving away $20.
 3.  best mail day evvvvver.  you will receive 5 items (clothing, jewelry, shoes, accessories, whatever you prefer). i personally only want clothing in my fix so i just always let my stylist know.
 4. take 3 days to decide what you want to keep/send back (in a postage paid envelope, of course).  use this time to try everything on.  match what’s in your closet, use your jewelry, walk around in it… this is my favorite part. i hate buying a shirt only to get home and realize i have nothing to wear with it. with stitch fix, this isn’t a problem!! bonus: if you keep all 5 items you will receive 25% off your entire fix, yaaaas!
it should be noted that while i have chosen to receive fixes randomly when i choose (when i have an event coming or need something new), you can also opt to receive fixes on a schedule (monthly, 2x/year, etc.). i started stitch fix 5 years ago and have randomly received fixes then!
**stitch fix also offers men’s, women’s, maternity and plus size!! you can also purchase gift cards to give which make a perfect surprise present for anyone in your life!
if you see anything that you like below, feel free to pin away and/or ask your stylist in the notes section of your next fix for something similar! i am the queen of copying other fixes!

LUSH - rhodes tank blouse stitch fix

LEVEL 99 - laird linen shorts  stitch fix

1. LUSH – rhodes tank blouse

i’m the first to admit that i’m a sucker for peeking at my fixes the moment i see they ship… i’ve learned though over the years not to truly form an opinion until they arrive and for this reason! i wasn’t super excited about this tank and would have never picked up in stores, but when i tried it on with these shorts as my stylist suggested, it was the perfect option for a casual day out or dressed up for girls night. i found a bralette i love that i’ve been pairing with all tanks these days and this was no exception. this tank is super light weight and would even be a great option to throw over a suit at the pool! while i loved this tank and whole outfit, it was a smidge too big and i couldn’t justify another tank in the closet right now so back it went!

2. LEVEL 99 – laird linen shorts

i so badly wanted to these to work because they’re the perfect casual shorts and i’m a sucker for olive but they were a little too big and i couldn’t exchange for a smaller pair.. super cute though!

3. papermoon – walpita cutout detail blouse

this was another shirt i wasn’t super excited about when i peeked, and really, even when i opened it from the box…but looking at these pictures i’m kinda regretting sending it back! i love the little cutouts at the top and the back and paired with these white jeans + wedges, i’m loving this outfit! oy, returning remorse!

4. THML – roonie embroidered dress

i totally thought this was a shirt when i peeked and was so pleasantly surprised when i realized it was a dress! i’ve been in need of a summer dress and loved this style! again, something i probably never would have tried on in store because of the shape, but i loved how easy and comfortable it was. we always go out for dinner one night on vaca and with our intentional date nights coming up, i’m super excited for this to be my go-to!

5. dolce vita – loraine ghiaie wedge

when i asked for wedges, these beauties were exactly what i had in mind…only better! i wanted something that could be dressed up for summer but that i could wear all night without wanting to chop my feet off. i’m chasing toddlers all day every day and heels just aren’t really my thing right now, but wedges tend to be so much easier for me to wear. these are SO comfortable and i love all the detail! win win win!

that’s a wrap! if you’ve been waiting to try out stitch fix for yourself or your hubby…or mom, or girlfriend or virtually anyone, now’s the time! sign up and get your styling fee waived!
