miller's vintage 1st airplane birthday party

My, oh my, how the time flies by! A vintage airplane birthday party to celebrate our baby boy turning 1 was so simple and SO much fun!

i was having a super tough time coming up with a ‘theme’ for miller’s 1st birthday and while i don’t think it’s necessary and i know he’ll never remember it, i do love to plan parties and i’m all about celebrating our baby boy turning 1. when i finally decided on an airplane theme with the ‘oh how the time flies’, everything started falling magically in place. my stepdad has a beautiful plane and i went out on a ledge and asked if we could host a party in the hangar. honestly, the stars aligned and it was seriously the COOLEST setting…and bonus, the wright b. flyer happened to be there for the day {which we had no clue about} so zach’s grandpa was even able to fly it!! my stepdad took whoever wanted to up in the plane and the kids had so much fun watching planes take off on the runway and checking out all the buttons gears and props.

i was trying to figure out what games/activities to have for the kids and finally decided to just let everyone enjoy the environment and i’m so glad i did.. the big kids had a blast and most importantly, we got to enjoy our little guest of honor in all his glory. watching the kids on the runways, in awe of the planes..even the adults were having so much fun! it wound up being so laid back and everyone enjoyed the magic of the planes!

we kept it very small with family and a couple of friends who might as well be family and wished these sweet cheeks the happiest of birthdays.

oh, sweet buddy…we love you SO much. time truly is flying and if i’ve said it once, i’ve said it a million times…you’re simply THE best. we love you with our whole hearts and thank God every day for blessing us with your sweet soul. you’re silly + sweet, sassy + playful, and simply a joy to be around. that goofy grin is contagious and your belly laugh ranks amongst my favorite things in the world. surrounding you with your favorite people who love you so much was an honor and your daddy + i are soaking up everything you are.
you’re everything i never knew i needed and i feel so blessed to be your mama.
