a donut birthday party | L + P’s 2nd birthday party

a donut birthday party is the cutest birthday theme for any little girl or boy! make it even more fun with a pajama dress code + breakfast food for a completely adorable and create birthday party!

we celebrated a little early this year and had {most of} our family over for lila + piper’s 2nd birthday with donuts + jammies!!
from the bottom of my heart, i had the most fun watching our big girls soak up all of the love, excitement and celebrate with the people they love most. i had SO much fun planning and watching it all come together as they walked around telling everyone they were TWOOOOO!!

we. LOVE. donuts so a donut birthday party theme was perfect for our twin cuties!! these two certainly have their mama’s sweet tooth and when it came time to start thinking about their birthday party, i knew they would have a blast with the food that is only reserved for special occasions!! i scoured pinterest for anything ‘donut’ i could find and it all came together perfectly. i had a blast working with a variety of shops to make my vision happen… let’s relive it…

we had SO much fun decorating and bringing together this vision of DONUTS!
bright. pink. sprinkles. colors.

i found THE cutest  shop {and kindest owner, jordan} on etsy, {no stress party for less}, fell in love with her creativity and donut birthday party items..love at first sight!! she was so sweet to customize my vision and deliver the most perfect products for our party! i then planned everything around the ‘two’ sign and cake topper, ‘2’…  these paper fans then stole my heart and i’ve loved seeing them pop up all over stores and instagram lately… i just couldn’t pass them up!!

donut birthday party menu

because the theme was donuts + jammies, our party was earlier in the day starting at 10am.  i kept the menu easy and couldn’t have been happier with my decision at 10pm friday night.  this preggo needed every shortcut possible to still be standing {and pregnant} by the time the party was over!

fruit salads
quiche lorraine
broccoli + cheddar quiche
donuts {duh!!}
chocolate, strawberry + white milk
coffee {lots!}
hot chocolate

chocolate, strawberry + white milk in the cutest little dispensers!!

donut decorating

when i was in the early stages of planning, i had attended at press event at dunkin donuts where we got to learn how to decorate donuts! the girls had an absolute BLAST and i left that day knowing that we just had to do this as our activity at their party.

dunkin donuts was SO kind to be such a huge part of our party and if you’re local to the dayton area, you have the h.o.o.k.u.p.!!

a couple fun facts about the dayton {ohio} locations
– all locations are PEANUT FREE!!! making this an easy option for allergy-sensitve guests.  one of my nephews has a severe peanut allergy and i rested easy knowing i was serving food that was safe for him AND he could participate in!
– they decorate cakes!! not every location will do this, but cliff, the manager over at the new woodman location, was eager and so kind to make us the coolest cake!! similar to a cupcake cake, a sheet cake of donuts was decorated to fit the girls theme perfectly.
– they offer donut decorating – seriously, how cool is this?! the kids had an absolute BLAST decorating donuts and chowing down… everything was included, even the cutest little boxes for the kids to take home the finished donuts {so. many. donuts!}

i mean could those donuts be any cuter decorated by the kids in those adorable boxes?!

blowing out the candles

we had practiced singing ‘happy birthday’ leading up to the party because although the girls are close and comfortable with everyone here, with too much attention they totally shut down.  all of our practice paid off because they were nothing but smiles… even giving a ‘ta-da!’ at the end!! they did so awesome blowing out their candles….i’m so proud of them and watching them get so excited over the little things makes my mama heart explode.

TA-DA!!

photo dump

..so shy with all the attention..

the MOST exciting part of the party… a giant blow-up donut! i had originally seen a post where someone used a flow like this as a photo prop…it was wishful thinking because it just didn’t work out.  they certainly had a blast playing in it though!!

so much love and thanks to our family who came out to celebrate with us and love on our little girls!
a HUGE thank you to dunkin’ donuts for partnering with fueling mamahood with delicious donuts + coffee!
